Extruder colliding with bed when homing

Hi there, have just installed 4.0.4 on my Balco Touch printer (no BLTouch) and whenever I try and home Z it collides with the print bed. I can hear the z end switch click then the motors continue moving into the bed. Not sure if I have missed something or if there is a bug? I have confirmed I am using the correct firmware for my model and everything.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Ben

Can you give more information: what file have you flashed? What is the exact model number of your printer and from where do you buy it?

Apologies, it was user error. While the box of the device calls the printer ‘Aldi Balco 3D Touchscreen’, it’s actually the model with the USB port and 5.2c revision board once I opened it up.
Have flashed the correct firmware now and all is well.

It is a common mistake: apparently, Aldi/Balco is selling two different printers (mainboard 5.1 and 5.2c) with the same model number!

Hi Benjamin, I have the same issue but have no idea how to find the correct firmware for the same version you have. Any help in finding it would be greatly appreciated.

You have to look at the motherboard. The version number is written on it. Either 5.1 or 5.2C

Many thanks for the super quick response. I have version 5.2C but I don’t know where I can download the correct version for my board ? Will I also need a matching LCD firmware or will that be OK with the version I have flashed.

Yes it must match.

Thanks but that link responds with "Oops! That page doesn’t exist or is private. "

First, Many many thanks for your assistance. This community is amazing. My issue is now resolved. I will be subscribing as a patron when I get home from work in the morning. The amount of work that has gone into creating this firmware/manuals and support cannot be underestimated. Thank you.
